Focus Resource Holdings was established as a platform for a team of seasoned professionals with diverse skills in the diamond exploration, mining, recovery, security, and trading sectors. Their objective is to develop a thriving diamond exploration and mining enterprise by drawing on the foundational principles that they have acquired through years of experience. The management and consultants possess an entrepreneurial spirit that enables them to capitalise on opportunities and have the requisite experience, network, and skills to independently complete the evaluation process for mid-tier and larger diamond deposits. This includes conducting geological analyses, ensuring security, optimising process engineering, and implementing mining and marketing practices in compliance with the Kimberley Process.
The team’s comprehensive knowledge and expertise in diamond deposits span across the globe, earning them an outstanding reputation in the diamond industry. The team’s philosophy revolves around implementing flat management structures, robust in-country management, on-site operational presence, and low-cost operating structures utilising the most applicable and up-to-date technology for each unique deposit. This approach has been honed over several decades.
The team intends to identify, operationalize, and monetize commercially viable opportunities in the diamond sector.
Mr Botoulas is a registered Professional Engineer with the Engineering Council of South Africa. He has previous experience in the turnaround of listed companies and mining operations in the role of Chief Executive Officer.
Mr van der Walt has operated in various military units, provided operational and security management on various projects around the world and founded two risk management companies. He has a proven track record and extensive experience in mining, petroleum exploration, facility construction and field development operations.
Dr Ward is a field orientated geologist with 40+ years experience in Africa, mostly on primary and secondary diamond deposits and other related placer deposits.
Mr Zwarts is a registered member with the South African Institute of Professional Accountants (SAIPA). Certified Professional Accountant (RSA) and Professional Tax Practitioner (RSA). Has over 10 years of financial experience in full accounting function, full completion, review and audit function, tax calculations and tax planning, accounting ratio and business analysis as well as analysis and commentary on variances. Is currently operating as the Chief Financial Officer of a Risk Management Company operating on various mining projects.
Shaun is a new business development specialist with over 30 years experience built up traveling internationally with a specific focus on emerging markets in Africa. Key areas of specialty include security, due diligence, mining as well as new business development. He is experienced as performing as the ‘man-on-the-ground’ for start up ventures in Africa and South America.
